Coming up in January!
Acting as Play! In Person!!
with Gabriel Levey
For the first time in 5 years, Acting as Play is BACK, in person and in NYC!!
A Clown-based Scene Study class?? You got that right bucko!!
Harness your beautiful little idiot's relentless pursuit of fun in order to take big risks before feeling “ready”; put logic aside to make way for a highly imaginative physical appetite/objective; embrace the precarious pleasure of not needing to know what’s coming next; find fun in whatever given circumstances the character has no choice but to endure; and always lead with hope, regardless of the inevitable disasters laid out in the text.
In this 6 week round of Acting as Play, students will have the opportunity to work on both monologues and scenes.
COME PLAY!!
Mondays, January 16th - February 20th
6pm - 10pm | IN PERSON!!!
Saint George Church | 307 W 54th St. in Manhattan
$450

Laughing Club

Oh my, dear friends,
Since we continue to find ourselves in relentless and extraordinary times full of mind-boggling gobbledygook and savage and unrepentant bewilderment, we have decided to continue something that once upon a time was altogether brand new but has now become a heroic way to ease our anxiety, boost our immune systems, purge some gnarly toxic yucky stuff while also kicking the endorphins off the charts and right in the yowie!
It's called a Laughing Club.
The Laughing Club is inspired by Laughter Yoga but deeply rooted in the pedagogy of Clown and Mask training.
We hope you can join us for this ongoing wellness practice designed to help process the grief, rage and anxiety of the ongoing present moment while also trying to remind ourselves what it feels like to live in a hopeful body, as well as to remember the sound of your beautiful laugh.
Sign up for a one-hour session, and have a real good, juicy, howling bwah ha hah fall-apart from the safety of your own living room, bedroom, basement, or perhaps even...your (relatively safe) kitchen!
The last Friday of every month, 5pm - 6pm EST
