Always wanted to teach Clown?
Thinking about how to incorporate Clown/Commedia work into your
teaching?
Let's get under the hood and see how it's done!
Make the most of your summer break and join our Teacher Training Program. The Teacher Training Program offers acting teachers (and actors/directors interested in teaching) the opportunity to return to the classroom and augment their skills under the guidance of master teacher Christopher Bayes (Head of Physical Acting, David Geffen School of Drama at Yale; author of Discovering the Clown – available here!) Taught in conjunction with our Summer Clown Intensive, the Teacher Training Program brings trainees into the classroom to watch and assist, with time for discussion and questions throughout the week. Walk away with a deeper understanding of the pedagogy and techniques of teaching Clown and physical theater.

Teacher Training
Here we go! Let's have a look under the hood! Observe the first module of clown training with master teacher Christopher Bayes. Time will be set aside during lunch for discussion about teaching techniques, challenges, strategies, and the gentle art of shepherding. Then, during week two, deepen your understanding of the work by watching Clown students progress into exercises with noses. Take part in the most difficult thing of all…the naming of the Clowns!
